Hot Air Balloon Festival - Qatar Day Social Media
Project Overview

This project was developed for Qatar Day as part of the Hot Air Balloon Festival, a large-scale public event showcasing visual spectacle and community engagement.

The work focused on translating a live, high-energy environment into a short-form digital asset, capturing key moments such as balloon inflations, ignition bursts, and crowd interactions to create an engaging, platform-optimized narrative.

My Role & Contribution

I worked on-ground alongside the in-house videographer, contributing to content capture with a focus on visually dynamic, high-impact moments.

In post-production, I supported shot selection, sequencing, and pacing to align the final output with short-form content performance standards, ensuring strong retention and engagement.

Content Strategy
  1. Designed specifically for Instagram Reels, leveraging vertical video and high-retention storytelling formats

  2. Prioritised strong opening hooks, rapid transitions, and visually striking moments to capture attention within the first few seconds

  3. Structured content using loop-friendly sequencing to encourage repeat views and maximise watch time

  4. Focused on event highlights, scale shots, and crowd energy to create an immersive viewing experience

  5. Optimised for discoverability through Instagram’s Explore page and algorithm-driven distribution

Creative Approach

The content adopts a fast-paced, event-driven storytelling style, translating a large-scale physical experience into a concise digital format.

Emphasis was placed on movement, contrast, and high-energy visuals to maintain viewer attention and reflect the vibrancy of the event environment.

Impact / Outcome
  1. Published on Qatar Day’s official Instagram platform

  2. Contributed to digital visibility of the event through social-first content

  3. Designed to drive engagement metrics including watch time, shares, and repeat views

  4. Functioned as supporting content alongside the main cinematic production
